Denmark

Denmark occupies a unique place in ballet history through the legacy of August Bournonville and the Royal Danish Ballet.

The Bournonville style remains one of the great traditions of classical ballet.

Denmark also has an active contemporary dance community, creating an interesting balance between historic ballet heritage and modern Scandinavian choreography.
